Achieving Low Latency and High Throughput with Apache Kafka
In the rapidly evolving world of data, real-time processing and analysis have become critical for businesses to maintain a competitive edge.
Apache Kafka has emerged as a key technology for persisting and distributing high volumes of real-time events.
This talk will provide a comprehensive overview of Apache Kafka, covering its architecture, key components, and core concepts.
Attendees will learn:
– The fundamentals of Kafka’s distributed architecture and how it ensures scalability and fault tolerance.
– Best practices for setting up and configuring Kafka clusters for optimal performance.
– Techniques for designing efficient data pipelines using Kafka producers, consumers, and topics. Practical use cases highlighting Kafka’s role in distributed architectures.
The talk will also include some hands-on examples with a series of exercises which you can also practice at home using Java, Spring and a local Kafka broker setup.
Design Smarter: The Untapped Power of Product Simulation
Engineering product simulation is a powerful approach to designing, validating, and optimizing products, leading to better performance, reduced costs, and faster development cycles. It is most effective when integrated with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Lifecycle Intelligence (PLI) systems. Incorporating simulation with PLM and PLI systems enhances collaboration, decision-making, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
Engineering product simulation involves the use of computer models to replicate the behavior, performance, and characteristics of a product under various conditions. It is a critical component in the product development process, helping engineers and designers to validate and optimize designs before physical prototypes are made.
One of the primary benefits of process simulation is the ability to test and validate process designs in a virtual environment. This is particularly valuable in industries where physical prototypes or trial runs are expensive, time-consuming, or not possible due to constraints. This is one of the main research topics in Accenture Industry X Cluj Innovation Center and we are happy to present our prototype, findings, and ideas.

Leveling up the Medical, Legal and Regulatory process in Pharma with Gen.AI

In the rapidly advancing pharmaceutical industry, the Medical, Legal and Regulatory (MLR) review process plays a vital role in ensuring compliance, accuracy and clarity in all communications and documentation.

One of the core elements of a solid MLR process lies in the use of technology and digital tools. How can Gen.AI help level up this process?
Join the team of the seasoned solution architects of Deloitte Technology Delivery Center for an in-depth technical exploration on how Gen.AI can be integrated into the MLR process and learn more about their journey in crafting an in-house solution, which aims to enhance efficiency, improve accuracy, and streamline workflows for the entire MLR assessment.

During the workshop, they will showcase the technology used to build the solution and its architecture. In addition, their demonstration will feature an AI-driven Q&A system that can effectively address queries from healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies and even patients, providing precise and timely information from extensive datasets.

Preparing and Using Data for AI with LangChain and OpenSearch®
Learn how to prepare your existing content for AI using LangChain and store it in OpenSearch®, so it can be used with an LLM in the Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pattern.

Making it all come together: How Critical User Journeys shape products that empower people long-term.
Ever launched a product that didn’t resonate with users? Learn Google’s flagship method, Critical User Journeys (CUJs), to preempt this issue and build products that truly empower people.
This hands-on workshop will help you:
– Put CUJs into practice
– Connect the dots across product development
– Attune products to real user needs
– Challenge your existing work patterns
Join us to break up the day, energize, and engage with others in the industry!
